U.S. Rep. John Katko would cruise to a second term if the election were held today, according to a poll released Tuesday by the National Republican Congressional Committee.

The survey commissioned by the NRCC and conducted by Harper Polling, a major Republican polling firm, found Katko, R-Camillus, leads Democratic challenger Eric Kingson by 23 points — 51 to 28 percent — in the 24th Congressional District race.
