US Senator Pat Toomey is leading two of the Democrats vying to face off against him in next year's senate race but the first-term incumbent falls short of a clear winning majority.
US Senator Pat Toomey is leading two of the Democrats vying to face off against him in next year's senate race but the first-term incumbent falls short of a clear winning majority. According to Republican pollster Harper Polling, if the election was held today, Toomey would defeat former Congressman Joe Sestak, 47 percent to 37 percent and defeat Governor Tom Wolf's former Chief of Staff Katie McGinty by a wider margin of 48 percent to 34 percent.

A clear majority of voters, 63 percent said the state is headed in the wrong direction and voters split over who they felt was responsible for the current state budget impasse with 31 percent blaming the governor, 31 percent blaming the GOP-lead state legislature and 35 percent blaming both.
